VMware ESXi install fails on UCS C220 – Partition Error

While installing ESXi on some Cisco C220 blades, I ran into the following failure message:
partedUtil failed with message: “Error: Can’t have a partition outside the disk! Unable to read partition table for device …”
Off to Google and found this excellent post by VirtuBytes. The error has to do with a Virtual Raid group set up with the onboard SD flash cards. The process to remedy the situation is super simple. You basically erase, disable and then re-enable the virtual drive. All the screenshots can be found in the post below.
This simple change allowed me to easily get through the ESXi installation. I did have to make one more change though in the BIOS and enable the HyperVisor drive as the default boot drive.
